The fall Chautauqua at the Lincoln Parish Museum will hold several lectures. October 3rd lecture is 2017 Program for the Fall Chautauqua “They Were Here First” The time period for this – 7000 B.C. – 1000 A.D. This presentation will also include a demonstration of pre-historic tools. It will feature James Hardy and Larry Pixley. October 10th’s lecture is “Outlaws, Gangsters, & the Lawmen Who Fought Them.” This will tell about Law Enforcement History in Lincoln Parish. The speaker is Wesley Harris. October 17th lecture is” Grambling, Louisiana, An American Success Story”- The history of the town of Grambling. The speaker is Phyllis Miller. October 24th’s lecture is “Lincoln Landmarks: Exploring and Saving Our Vanishing History” A look at our landmarks and how to preserve them. Doors open at 5:00 with program at 6:00. Light refreshments will be served from 5 to 6.
