A new program called Everyone with Diabetes Counts, offers free diabetes education classes, taught by trained health care workers. Through these classes you will learn about diabetes and its risks, the role of diet and exercise, the importance of regular doctor exams, and annual foot and eye exams, how to maintain willpower in a world of temptations, how to manage medications, and much much more. This is for people with pre-diabetes, diabetics with Medicare, Medicad, or Medicare Advantage. No one will be turned away. These 6 interactive learning sessions build on each other and you do not want to miss any. They will be held November 8th, 15th, 22nd, 29th, and December 6th and 13th from 9:30-11:30 a.m. at the Lincoln council on Aging at 1000 Saratoga Street in Ruston. Call Melinda Jones, RN, to register at 318-235-3174.
